Horse with neurologic defects

History of Present Illness

A 24-year-old Warmblood gelding is brought to the clinic by his owner for evaluation of hindlimb incoordination and urine dribbling. The horse has appeared weak and uncoordinated in the hind end for several days. He has also been observed with the penis hanging out of the sheath with urine dribbling. Normal urination has not been seen for a few days, although he seems normal other than the hindlimb incoordination. Normal piles of feces have been noted in his stall.
