The largest branches from the trachea into the lungs

The fine branches coming off of the bronchi

Epiglottis

Serves as a “trap door” on top of the larynx; keeps food out of the larynx and trachea while the animal is swallowing

Voice box; located at the top of the windpipe (trachea)

The middle part of the pharynx, at the far back of the mouth

Often just called “sinuses”; the tissue-lined cavities in the skull just behind and above the eyes and along the sides of the nose

The passage between the back of the nose and the throat; it is separated (top to bottom) into the nasopharynx, oropharynx, and hypopharynx (throat)
