Veterinary Colleges and Organizations Act to Support Antiracism and Diversity Programs

Following the recent unrest in the US related to police violence against African-Americans, several veterinary colleges and national veterinary organizations have taken additional steps to support social justice movements and address the lack of diversity within the veterinary profession. Although the AVMA and American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges both began formal efforts to increase representation of minorities in the veterinary profession in 2005, they acknowledge that more needs to be done.
