Chicken astrovirus, duodenum, chick
Cross-section of the duodenal loop from a 5-day-old chick with runting and stunting syndrome. Chicken astrovirus was detected in the duodenum by in situ hybridization using a digoxigenin-labeled chicken astrovirus riboprobe (A, B, and C). Specific staining within the cystic crypts of Lieberkuhn was also observed (B, C).
