Coxofemoral luxation evaluation, cat
Lateral views of the coxofemoral area in a cat, showing the key landmarks for evaluating craniodorsal coxofemoral luxation. The three landmarks are the Ilium (wing of ilium), the ischial tuberosity, and the greater trochanter of the femur. These landmarks are critical for assessing femoral head displacement relative to the acetabulum. (A) Left hip. In a normal coxofemoral joint (not luxated) these three landmarks form a triangle. (B) Right hip. In a coxofemoral joint with craniodorsal luxation, these three landmarks form a straight line because of the dorsal displacement of the greater trochanter.
