Hermann's tortoises (Testudo hermanni), female and male

In Hermann's tortoises, the female (top) has a shorter tail and flat plastron, whereas the male (bottom) has a longer tail and a more concave plastron. These dimorphic characteristics are common to many species of chelonians.
