Radiocarpal joint: A 21‑gauge, 3.8‑cm (1½‑inch) needle is inserted in the direction of the arrow, with the limb held in flexion, through the palpable depression between the extensor tendons. 2. Intercarpal joint: A 21‑gauge, 3.8‑cm (1½‑inch) needle is inserted in the direction of the arrow, with the limb held in flexion, through the palpable depression between the extensor tendons or lateral to the lateral digital extensor tendon.
