Respiratory sinus arrhythmia, ECG, dog
Respiratory sinus arrhythmia in an ECG of a dog. Variation in the sinus rhythm corresponds to phases of the respiratory cycle relating to vagal tone with a > 10% variation in R-R intervals. There is an increase in heart rate during inspiration and a decrease in heart rate (longer R-R interval) during expiration. A constant P-R interval and normal P-QRS-T complex is present.
