Verminous endarteritis, horse
Chronic active verminous endarteritis in a horse, caused by migrating larvae of Strongylus vulgaris. This necropsy image of an opened cranial mesenteric artery demonstrates the typical lesions: thickened and fibrotic arterial wall, thrombus formation, and the presence of several larvae within the vessel lumen.
