Duck viral enteritis, diffuse petechiation, liver

The liver is enlarged due to hepatitis. The surface of the liver in DVE cases may have a pale copper color and diffuse petechiation. Pale areas are indicative of focal necrosis. Liver, spleen, bursa, and kidney are the best samples for viral isolation or detection by molecular methods.
