Swine dysentery, Brachyspira hyodysenteriae, photomicrograph
Note the characteristic morphology of Brachyspira hyodysenteriae: loose, slender coils. Other agents of swine dysentery have similar morphology and can often be visualized in stained fecal smears from clinically affected pigs.
