Photomicrograph of a liver section from a cat with severe microvesicular hepatic lipidosis demonstrating marked hepatocyte distention with triglyceride. Hepatocyte distention has compressed hepatic sinusoids and disturbs perfusion. Note congested RBC in scattered pockets, despite the fact that all hepatocytes abut sinusoidal vasculature.
